I'm at a similar place where I know and accept that death mean just nothingness afterwards, but it still freaks me out.
Like, just sitting and trying to merely conception what it would be like to just. NEVER think again. To be completely devoid of any thought, any motion, any impact on yourself or the world around you. It's a level of nothing that I believe the human brain genuinely cannot fathom.
It's a level of complete emptiness from all conceptual thought that does genuinely freak me out. I guess it's less fear and more dread that inevitability. And sometimes I just have to snap out of those thoughts and focus on what I have now.
