the newer games being worse designed than the old games is a legit criticism as is the series as a whole being extremely underwhelming compared to the tech and capabilities of modern games. They don't even really bother with dungeons anymore and have basically streamlined much of the game out of the game. That would be tolerable I guess but the games also look and run like shit. Then there's stuff like how archaic and slow the presentation of information is. Lazy and unambitious are the perfect words to describe the it
