I started replaying it from 0 cause I had a NG+ at two bosses killed and wanted to get there first before returning to that file.
I could appreciate a lot of the systems early on more with how the Codes affected the stats and the playstyle. Also got my ass kicked by the moth boss over and over until I could learn the ropes and then return to my NG+ file.
Even then I feel I can't make most of what the game gives to me. As if I have all the tools to do a fight and I can see the game tailors them in some way but I am only using the same methods as always of hit and running and rolling on the ground.

More games should have premises cool and wholesome like that. Vampires are popular as fuck but always relegated to bosses or powerful enemies. Why the fuck does nobody explore this?

Honestly it always weirded me how vampires are seen as sex gods and reasonably strong and popular but they always feel out of focus unless it's some sort of game to kill them.
You'd expect more people would have pulled a Code Vein exploring to help them deal with their thirst and the like
