Sadly, and I say this with genuine sorrow: yes.
There are things that machines simply can't understand about human preferences.
You can fish for good gens over and over, but if you can visualize it and know what needs to be done, it's probably faster than hoping a machine can shit it out for you exactly how you envision it.
Datamodels can do great things and automate very exhausting processes, but so far they still seem to require people with critical thinking skills in every sector in order to obtain the best results, so there's that.
