It's not a common occurrence but Earth Defense Force Iron Rain was definitely one.
Can't really think of others, I have a jewish spirit animal that dissuades me from wasting dosh and forces me to get my money's "worth" so if I subscribe to something I'll wring as much out of it as possible.
