This was me with Tri like 15 years ago. I fucking hated MH at the time, and I thought the game was so blurry, clunky and ugly. Then I was tricked into buying MH3U and I had the same problems but worse because 3DS fucking sucks for controls and visuals. I was tricked one more time with 4U and something finally clicked, and I went back and played all of the other games before World came out and fucking loved it. Wilds is kind of shit tho so YMMV, last few patches really helped at least.

No Man's Sky. I bought it in 2020 for $30 and played about 7 hours and immediately requested a refund same day. Steam wouldn't give me a refund. Literally 1/2 of that time was sitting in menus and trying to get through the convoluted tutorial, which alone takes over 2 hours at a normal pace, IE walking around and talking to NPCs, etc.

I bought Deathloop full price. Was riding high on Prey, lot of faith in even post-Colantonio Arkane, you know.
It was very, very boring. 4 maps, 2 of them outright suck, events are like 20 seconds long and require 20 minutes to get to with lame movements and lamer encounters against 1 (one) enemy type, timeframe map changes are so minor, it's just bad, badly paced, boring fucking game. Blah. Blaaaah.

It's okay. I think people like it mostly for the k-pop portion and spider-verse frames. It would be funny if Kpop Demon Hutners finishes its trilogy before Spider-Verse does. I should add that the only exception I've made to this rule in the last decade was Cyberpunk 2077.
