It also helped that Sonic Underground did slice of life the best out of Tamers' videos, the characters were allowed to stand out more especially while most plot was reserved for side bars and less frequent than in MLP. Also it's just been a while since we've had a proper episode, I'm one of the SU believers so I know one day it'll come back but I can only watch Season 3 of Jackie Chan Adventures so many times until I gets a little boring.

In all seriousness there isn't much similar to them in terms of character and I think Tamers does it both because Flora is one of his most popular characters and the fact that her and Trixie share the same color pallet. It's like how Blueblood and Shining Armor were a thing because they were blue and yellow like Sonic and Bartleby until Soarin and Braeburn came along to fill the hole since Shiny broke up with Blueblood.
