All forms of government office should be seen as civic duty, like jury duty, that a citizen is required to perform for a 6 to 24 month period of time. They should be paid a standard compensation salary and housed in reasonable living situations while they perform their tasks of governance. Government should NOT be a job that people get elected to. It should not be a career and it should not be something that is determined by the will of the mob.
