I don’t read hundreds of books for this reason, even though I do like reading. I go back and reread some things, think about what the message could be. I don’t want it all to be a blur, I’d want the book to actually mean something to me when I finish it (which thankfully is how it is for me). That’s how I felt finishing ‘The Metamorphosis’ earlier in the year. I just felt a profound fulfilment and closure.
I’ve been reading ‘We’ by Yevgeny Zamyatin, my second time since I felt like I didn’t quite understand everything the first time when I was younger. I like it a lot.
