Bungie was still around? Didn't even realize it. Pretty sure most of the original team left after Halo 3 and/or Reach anyway. Can't just replace 95% of the team, call it the same thing and expect the same results. Nonetheless, I will forever respect the OG team from Halo (1), the "behind the scenes" production documentary and interviews are the vidya equivalent of the Lord of the Rings film appendices. Like the game or not, those guys knew what they were doing and had the right ideas from a technical standpoint.

Lives rent free in my head and I judge every game to this day based on that core principle.
