On the one hand, hammering home that the dark side is the quick and easy path would have actually worked wonders, and you could explain Kylo being an absolute bitch by him being unable to stay on a path.
On the other, the idea that Rey would ever be evil was just laughable the second pic related happened.
It's showing someone having a temper tantrum, then drawing a deadly weapon when the person being attacked has the gall to defend themselves. If this was the OT or PT, it would have had ominous music, shots of an enraged face, and maybe a bit of symbolism to go with it.
Instead, she was treated as completely in the right.
I almost laughed when they tried to hint she'd be anything but righteous, and the movie almost feels like it's mocking people who thought otherwise by having her IMMEDIATELY reject Kylo with such a condescending voice.
