ChromeOS has this little feature called Crostini that basically integrates a Debian-based hypervisor into the OS via a developer mode. It's extremely well polished, can be reset and configured with just a few clicks, and runs in its own little sandbox. Applications installed (via Deb files or the package manager) show up as normal icons in ChromeOS' start menu, making them look and feel very similar to a native application. It's all very seamless.

So why hasn't anyone tried to do something like that, but with Windows instead of Debian in the hypervisor environment? Obviously there could be some legal problems, like you'd have to supply an ISO and product key (or just use a KMS activator) yourself, but other than that it doesn't seem that hard.
I know you can run a Windows virtual machine on basically every Linux distro in existence, yes, the problem is that they're all very poorly integrated by default. See VirtualBox as an example, I guess. Sorry if this is a retarded idea.
