Actually the in-joke is this manga was cancelled very, very early in, mindbreaking the author so hard that he scrapped whatever the initial overarching plot was and quickly wrote some sort of metafictional conspiracy that ended with the MC kid (who was actually created to be made of anti-plot energy. Yes, really) turning the book that controls the world's destiny into a gun and using it to shoot the nihilistic wizard trying to put it out of it's misery (because the world had to be endlessly kept alive by the hunters' guild writing calamities like dragons or demons or more recently, werewolves to fight, in order to entertain the readers of the manga).

The crab shit is all on me. I'm basically using the big destiny book to transform the entire setting into that of a one-shot the author wrote himself.

Assuming all goes well and I can finish one more writeup tonight, this will be the last time I ever need to use a Battler pic again and I can finally move onto a much more fitting face

Well, at the very start of my chain-my first jump was Pokemon Trainer (in which I had no reason to use nukes), then I progressed to Infamous (in which nukes kinda fell by the wayside in favour of superpowers) and then went to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (see Pokemon Trainer). The next few jumps after that followed a generally schizo set of shifts between technology levels (Super Mario RPG, Shovel Knight, Generic Wuxia, Metal Gear Revengeance, Borderlands, the oldest Sonic the Hedgehog jumps, MMX, MMZ) ranging from too primitive to use nukes to so advanced as to having long since left nukes behind (but often crippled by various ambient disasters). I wouldn't say I was a godling, if I'm being honest. But I would say between the Conduit video powers, the VWES system as well as the other advantages of MMZ level technology, the super speed and the nanomachines enchanted by celestial Marioverse magic I was someone who didn't need the usual reasons for gods either.

Suffice to say that within my first century of life as a Jumper, I was tempered by a very different paradigm of warfare in which the second best defence against nukes was "run away and rely on nanomachines/bullshit Conduit physiology to tank the fallout" and the best defence was "PARRY THAT SHIT AND DO A DOUBLE JUMP ON IT". By the time I got to Red Alert 3 which had both the greatest incentive and opportunity to use nukes, Kemmlerian plant necromancy had become a much better option in almost every circumstance.

[Kengan Ashura redux]

>Previously: https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/94570319/#94573825

Xia Yan, the "Head" of the "Worm", blinked. He took a deep breath. Let it out. Then he slapped himself once, twice, across the face, all the while Rama XIII smiled placidly and Nogi did his best poker face impression (while inwardly shitting himself).

Once he had ascertained that he was not, in fact, having a bad dream he signed the piece of paper in front of him with the sombreness of a man on death row. "I can't actually believe this is happening" he complained.

"I could say me neither. All those possibilities and probabilities for how this world could have, and it just happened to bumble along the one that resulted in my cloned armies being irrelevant" I said. "But well, such is the burden of Time/Space 10. All times and moments are one time and one moment. And as far out as I can see, I see nothing but slice of life shenanigans for us all"

"I don't know what you're talking about, but luckily I don't want to know what you're talking about" grumbled Yan, swallowing his third Tylenol "because I'm about to officially sign up what's left of the Worm as an official member of the Kengan Association. Because apparently THAT'S how we're doing thing around here, since Wulong needs an OFFICIAL SPONSOR to participate in a KENGAN ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT god this is so stupid"

"Sir, this works out for everyone" pointed out Rama XIII. "Either your Connector problem dies in the arena or we lose a few fighters at no cost. What's the problem?"

"The problem?" Yan laughed mirthlessly. "Well, the problem is I just totalled my entire ancient kung fu conspiracy for something I could've easily arranged on my own, all because Wulong just had to go and have a beer with the wrong man. The problem is I just realised I've given full control of the nukes to our LEAST trustworthy man. And the problem, THE PROBLEM, IS THAT NONE OF YOU REALISE WHO YOU'RE DEALING WITH"
