After a jump filled with honor and fighting and seriousness this was… actually fun. I got to hang out and sing and play games which chatting with people. I made a lot of friends. What are good force multipliers to buff a faction in fantasy jumps without feeling out of place in the setting?

So no giving firearms to your soldiers, but stuff like a Bloodforge from Blood & Magic or ways to empower all your troops quickly (regardless of if your making them physically stronger, access to a magic system easy to pick up and share, high tier equipment that you can mass produce or whatever) would all work.

Basically looking for ways to turn a weak fantasy RTS faction into a strong RTS faction instead of carrying the faction personally as an overpowered hero unit.

I... didn't think it sounded that hopless did I? Or perhaps it does outside my head.

He doesn't live on scraps all the time but he rarely has a regularly paying job. Outside perhaps book commissions and he travels a lot. Living somewhat frugally and making a little go a long way are skills he's had to learn. Essentially just stuff I imagine any adventurer would end up developing after a while if they don't come from some rich background or family.

Fair enough honestly. Jumpers standard of living will probably improve eventually. He's going to pick up items that help with it eventually. Money items or food if nothing else if he rolls a world with them.

For now though. I suppose I can adjust a bit. Account for few gifts and goodwill from folks he's helped musically. Let him have a few nice things. Maybe a RV or bus. Because the spaceship would be to inconspicuous.

Question for Shard: Taking the "Death or Transcendence" perk, would that affect godhood attained by perks or would it only affect apotheosis attained by energy drains or rituals?

It would affect both, and if Transcendent is ALL you have then that is basically "competently minmaxed WoW raid party further empowered by perfectly timed World Buffs versus midboss" tier levels of fucked. While Transcendent entities are nominally higher and greater by leagues in scope of existence to Imperators, the thing about miracles is that they are more limited by primacy than scope. Even an otherwise normal Strategist with high Lore is said to have a CHANCE of binding a Transcendent to their will in the sense that Captain Ahab has a chance against Moby dick. Having multiple Imperators and Excrucians coordinate is a Very Bad thing. Consider that Earth, consistently depicted as the main invasion location for the Excrucian host, is managed by a mere 4 Imperators.

Most likely. For obvious reasons there are no clear depictions of Noble vs Transcendent battle, but fighting an Imperator is already supposed to be an uphill battle for a Noble with the Noble's main advantage being that the Imperators are typically "slower" by nature and/or too "big" to rapidly respond but consistently outgun the Noble in terms of raw miraculous power and scope. This is in spite of the fact that Nobles THEORETICALLY have access to wish-level feats at the highest mastery of Flore. The problem is Imperators/Excrucians also have ways to fuck with wishes without substantively invalidating their main outcome or rendering themselves invalid targets for them, and Transcendents have all the hurdles of fighting Imperator cranked way up.

Nobles are kind of like chaff/IEDs for Imperators against Excrucians while Transcendents are beeg enough to find the Valde Bellum beneath their notice. Also on the plus side, it takes an actual wish for an Actual to cooperate with anyone.

So have a build. Jumpers going to basically Scour gensokyo... and Makai and probably hell itself for as much magical knowledge as he can. The opportunity to study a magic system in its native setting is rare and fleeting. And he wants to get as good a grounding as he can before moving on. Probably run afoul of the shrine maiden at least once. Become study partners with marisa eventually I like to think. They feel like they'd get along well.

The hyperdimensional crystal I'd made to stay in touch with Morty rang, and I stopped calcifying another Spaghetti Person-ruled planet to hop on over to the Smith household. Not the type of human whose organs turn into spaghetti upon death due to a highly specific biological process by the way, these were actually sentient miniature flying spaghetti monsters that existed to fulfil some sort of horribly outdated cultural reference. The point is, I showed up with some spaghetti for what I assumed was a Smith family easter only to find the family having trapped Jerry in a giant crystal after he'd tried to teach everyone the true meaning of easter.

Only to instead of have run over the Easter Bunny in his car. And then vomited on it's corpse.

"Hello, Morty. Would you like me to teach you the true meaning of Easter?" I asked, brandishing an array of Matrix-style plugs. Each festively colored for easy ID. "I've got a few modified strains of the Ouroboros System that can-"

Like yes, Miracles are more limited by primacy than scope, but Transcendent 100% gives you that primacy, and furthermore gives you the sheer resilience to be basically immune to every direct assault an Excrucian tries.

After all, if it were possible for Strategists to try and bind a transcendent, we would have heard about it, because at some point in their early wars against the Is they would have tried to either remove the Cup-of-Flames or to directly kill the World Ash, as, you know, those are your peers as Transcendents.

Like, fucking hell, we know what Seal of Time was like, and it was ultimately a battle won by a single Imperator with the right estate, and as a Transcendent you can fucking make Imperators! And that's ignoring the stupidity you can do by picking your Estates and Divine Attributes wisely!

Unless you want to say there is not a single greater Imperator who's either a mimic or is Not aligned, a Transcendent already survived against all of the listed drawbacks, that was literally just the initial Valde Bellum before Attaris Ebrot Appeka.

Even Transcedent have to be somewhat wary for those below them can still pose a risk the same way a mosquito with a deadly virus can pose a risk to a human despite the difference in status. Basically it's a chain butt. You get a chain for 0 tokens. You get 2 active jumps worth of power in addition to your current jumps powers. for 0 Tokens. You get the bodymod, warehouse for 0 Tokens as well as the 8 active companion slots.
You get a token at the end of each successful jump (one you don't die), You get a token each time you impress or please the benefactor (do something impossible, or very interesting)
For 50 Tokens you get your spark
For 10 Tokens you get an extra active jump
For 2 Tokens you get an extra active companion slot.
For 5 Tokens you get a stacked allotment of CP for 1 jump (You get + 1000 CP but stuff has to be bought in 1000 cp increments each 1000 increment counting as a jump for your jump slot)

Anyways does anyone else have any recommendations for abilities that can be purchased or maybe you think something should be priced differently. Also tell me if you think this is a horrible idea. It seems fun to me but not everyone shares my sense of fun.

One potential issue is that Transcendents do not exist in isolation from other Transcendents, whether in Ninuan or Creation. Heaven, the World Ash and the wicked fire are all Transcendents or Transcendent-remnants that Imperials can potentially harness to weaponise against you just as that one True God attempted to flood the World Ash with Earth's nature once; being inert makes this much easier than the Strategists going out to catch Transcendents. Another is that, well, Imperators can BECOME Transcendents in certain circumstances; this is the unsubtle implication of one of Chuubo's own arcs, that the Angel of Fortitude is trying to make him a second World Ash. Similarly an established Strategist character arc is becoming the chain between the Not and the Void; arguably we've seen an example of this in Fable of the Swan, in which sub-Imperator beings managed to produce the Cintamani. They don't do this most of the time because being an Imperator is pretty damn great. But the drawbacks provide motivation.

But it's a machine, and so is the carrier, and in the right circumstances (precision IEDs, hacking, bioweapons) the drone can seriously fuck up the aircraft carrier's functionality.

So my jumper and her companions are sent as a B team to help out the Joestars on their way to Egypt. My jumper's Stand "The Golden Fool" Lets her create copies of herself though the more she creates the weaker each individual copy gets. Anyways the plan is to kill Dio and try and save the rest of the crusaders who died the first time. I am just waiting though for the part when Dio freezes time to kill my Jumper and tries to punch a hole through her only to break his hand. It will heal quick but should be a funny surprise.

Fair enough then! I'm not sure trying to wield the other Transcendents or Transcendent-remnants would work, nor their ability to ascend into Transcendents themselves would come together in any timely or reliable method, but these and far more are options they could try and use to drag down the Transcendent Jumper and murder them in the muck. Hell, doing so is even what Excrucians do, and what the Nobilis were made to counter.

My issue was in fact the MMO analogy, because while all of the above are options, none of them are particularly good or likely options. Sure there's a lot of people trying to take their shot with those drawbacks, but, well, dragging the foundations of existence down and slitting their throats is never going to be an easy job, not if the target is aware and active and resisting.

The drones vs carrier analogy works a lot better I think. Many are the foes assailing you, many are the tactics they might use, and many are the ways you could fall. But, many too will be the subordinates and defenders you can array around yourself, many are the weapons and tactics you can wield in your defense, and many of them will likely fall before they down you, if they ever do.

That struggle would be one for the Ages, but, well, so is the one the World Ash is involved in currently, and just like the Valde Bellum it might go either way.

It's always been...sorta vague what exactly keeps Kratos coming back from the underworld. In the second game Gaia revives him. In the third game he...just kind of crawls out under his own power. It's not clear if Zeus actually smote him to death or just literally blasted him off the mountain, but either way he murders Hades and takes his soul which probably gives him an additional buffer of not dying? And in 4, it's specifically stated his fire can burn in Hel because it's foreign from the world's laws.

3 also states that Kratos' true power is Hope, which is an actual god-killing blue flame as well as optimism and shit. It's stated that was why he was able to grow huge and beat Ares. So, evidence seems to suggest killing Kratos before the first game ends significantly lessons his chances of reviving again.

So marvel is not ideal by any means. There is a lot of hardship to be found in this world. However as I enter it there are a few goals that stand out. First I want to fix Spider-man’s life. I am not sure with all of the Jumper power at my command I can do this but, I am assuming I start in the modern day of Marvel, heaven help me.

First I think I shall try and take the battle to Mephisto. I started in Latveria because there I can find an ally in that endeavor. Going against a hell lord in his home turf isn’t easy but hopefully I can make myself a big enough pain in the ass that he will leave Spider-Man alone.

Next part relies in talking to M.J. about some questionable life choices she has made. I have no idea if I can get her to ditch Paul. Hopefully but if not, I tried. Also maybe something something get rid of MJ’s Symbiote. Honestly M.J. shouldn’t be a super hero. That was a dumb idea.

Beyond that I think I shall try generic hero stuff. I don’t really think the people of Marvel are really worth it but, where I see injustice I will try and step in to right it. This likely will keep me very busy.

It's funny because right now the main Marvel event is about Dr. Doom taking over the world by tricking Stephen Strange into giving him the role of Sorcerer Supreme...and actually, the world is OK with it, and repeatedly shits on the Avengers and Fantastic 4 for getting in the way. Mainly because the Avengers are so stupid their immediate responses to anything Dr. Doom does are 1. barge in and start brawling, and 2. team up with actual supervillains to try to bring Doom down because he MUST be up to something! Consequently catching civilians in the crossfire. The story even goes out of it's way to show contrary to the Avengers' assumptions, instead of mind controlling world leaders Doom just accelerates time to have long conversations with them over the course of a single night (kind of like Santa, but...the opposite) and just get them to cut a deal with him. And by all indications, it's working. The majority of Marvel is currently pro-Doom and anti-Avengers, to the extent that Strange Academy (Dr. Strange's very own school for magical students) just kind of rolled with being under new management, while Dr. Strange himself has escaped to Asgard and hasn't even bothered trying to do anything to Doom.

So far the biggest hurdle Doom has faced is Dormammu coming over and almost beating him to death because Doom dismissed the mystic precautions as a low priority while taking over the world, forcing Doom to summon the Avengers to distract Dormammu long enough to banish him. And he still managed to turn that into a net PR plus for himself.

Don't blame that anon. Marvel itself is going out of it's way to present Doom as the lesser evil.

The thing about Dr. Doom is that he is basically a barbarian murderhobo who happens to have access to super science and magic. Like, about 2 steps down the moral highground from Conan; they met once and despite being naturally suspicious of sorcerers Conan instinctively vibed with him because Doom just threw them both a feast instead of use his normal manipulation tactics. Medea's noble phantasm Rule Breaker already does it, and its not hard to imagine someone being able to make a spell that replicates the effect through some Ether Element magecraft(which can be used for meta magic), especially as the Magus Flat at one point uses it to interfe with the bond someone has their familiar to secretly spy throgh its senses.

If I had to make a build for it it would probably be in Kara No Kyoukai by taking the first rate perk for an Average One affinity or a strong one for Ether, Familiar Master and Risen Legends for familiar magecraft. Though some lesser combination would probably work too.
Otherwise this perk from Highschool DxD may let you do it.

I was making some kind of analogy about letting go of festering blood and stagnant sinew to embrace the certainty of steel, and this somehow touched Lee's cold Korean heart as he thought about his sister. By the end of the meeting, he suddenly realised the entire revenge plot was utterly pointless, and just got one of his own goons to shoot Dae-Su in the head instead of prolonging Mi-Do's involvement.

Lee lived the rest of his days as a lonesome but oddly charitable man who subsidised the creation of many domestic job opportunities. At least, in the short period of time before all of Korean was converted into cyborgs.

I turned 180 degrees from this intimate moment and decided to walk in on the lunch topic of the week.

"Man, they really hate Luohan in there huh?" said Shen, outside where there was less testosterone in the atmosphere. "Not that I blame them"

I'm a distant great grandchild of the monkey king himself. Well as a result of me awakening my bloodline, i've become a complete and utter outcast, having been expelled by my sect, being hated by everyone and generally being hunted down by the dark sect and all the beasts surrounding me.
Still i got a monkey companion that will help my train while in the wild, doubtlessly teaching me valuable monkey style martial techniques, but of course also boosting my monkey bloodline.
Due to my drawbacks i can scarcely be seen in civilisation again, but the wilderness is equally dangerous, only my aura controll and illusion skills keeping me alive.
The war will pull me into it anyway at some point, but hopefully i'll be ready then.

The end goal is to truly emulate the great sage, reach immortality and then topple all of heaven with an army of clones, an incredible weapon, a chi reserve that just won't end and martial skills bar none.

I was wondering too, I had some ideas on how to make its nature synergic with my abilities, but my low knowledge on the setting makes me unsure.

Partially, on one side it impede my natural cultivations and must find a way to either reject it or harmonize it, but on the other hand it give me constant access and connection to a different flow of chi, wich helps me study the differences and therefore chi itself, to help in the progress of reversing creation, getting two from three and one from two.

I usually just invent a Oil to something inert spell and then use the clocktower item from throne of glass to cast it over the whole area in one go. It is easy and allows me to do large scale effects without breaking into the continent buster magic early in the chain.

Celebrating Juneteenth.

So this will be a rocky path I think. Jumper basically arriving for the first time in Tamriel when Hell is invading and everyone's killing one another. Ends up falling in with the Pact just because he's in there territory and there fighting the Daedra trying to pull everyone into oblivion. Fight for about a year maybe two until the plots resolved but the wars still going on over Cyrodiil. He eventually embarks on his own version of a main quest. Gathering Followers and scattered legions scattered around the former empire along with whatever Former elder council members are alive to try and make some... lasting peace

A few years later basically helping form the Heartlands in the center of Cyrodiil where the three banner wars been worst. They are making it very clear they are NOT a empire but the country needs some sort of stable governance beyond just a endless line of puppet emperors for one of the three alliances using it as a battleground. And he gets a bit sidelined when he's chosen as Potentate by the reformed elder council. (Basically, the head) of that fledgling state. It probably wont ever unite the province, but it'd bring some much-needed peace. It probably stays around for a couple centuries after he leaves. At least until Tiber septim rises and conquers it. Jumper becomes a interesting footnote in Tamrielic history.
