Over here private individuals and businesses install solar even without any subsidies because it makes financial sense for certain applications i.e. factories that work during the day, warehouses, off grid villas etc.
Obviously you can't power an entire country off of solar, and nuclear is still the best option, but on the scale of a single building solar is great.
Imagine hating on a technology that makes it easier to live off the grid and be more independent because the people you hate like it.
