Can someone explain to me what exactly makes key cards different from regular games? I understand that regular games are fully on the card itself and key cards are essentially physical keys to download the game off the internet. I know key cards can be shared online, as well as digital games, while obviously regular games have to be done in person. Honestly, I imagine key cards can just be shared in person as well, since the user still needs the key to even play the digital game
Is that pretty much the only difference? I imagine key card games can still be played offline for a certain length of time before needing to be connected to the internet. Personally, this is a better solution than the current one where only a portion of the game is on the card/disk and a large portion needs to be downloaded anyways. At least key cards can still be shared. Unless it's a situation where you can only share it between family accounts. In which case that would be something worth being angry about. Otherwise, I don't see an issue with key cards in an era where we're constantly connected to the internet.
