If you're calling gen IV both the Sinnoh games and the Johto remakes then HGSS hard carries the gen. If you're talking about just Sinnoh and its garbage remakes then there's a lot to hate

Also based on my memory, BW2 is on the same level or close to Emerald, XY are meh, probably FRLG tier, ORAS were unironically good because instead of the one to one remake shit they're reimagined versions of Hoenn that make both of and Emerald worth playing, SM were ok while USUM were a bit better, hate Shillie though. Never played LGPE aka Kanto for babies. Sword/Shield were the beginning of the end with hallway routes and a ridiculous story. BDSP were genuine garbage. And SV were fairly good at their core but the presentation and performance knocks it down many times. Have yet to play the legends games

Also can I just re+emphasize that whoever started the "haha Cynthia is so difficult wrong house in Undella town am I right" bullshit must have been a zoomer whose first game was DP and they ate crayons while playing. I swept her ass with my level 56 Archeops since Spiritomb is garbage and lets you setup with X items.

I started with RBY and played Gold/Silver but skipped Crystal because my older siblings didn't have it and I was basically playing hand me downs

Same with Ruby/Sapphire but then I got Emerald for myself which was my first very own Pokemon game(and still my favorite to this day). I also got Leaf Green a bit after.

Same with Pearl version and then I got into piracy with a flashcard and played Platinum, HGSS, BW, and BW2 right when they came out.

I genuinely bought XY and ORAS on launch day because I was still big into Pokemon and didn't have a 3DS that was hackable at the time. Eventually I did though and I pirated Sun/Moon the day they leaked and played through most of it in one night. That was where I took a bit of an extended break from Pokemon though.

I skipped USUM cause something about the way they handled the "third version" bugged me. And since I didn't have a Switch at the time I skipped those games too until just a few years ago since I got a PC that can emulate the Switch easy.

I went back and pirated USUM and it was ok. Pirated SwSh and it was mediocre. Pirated BDSP on launch and they were dog shit. SV was surprisingly good. I started but never finished PLA and have never bothered with LGPE.

Nowadays it's more enjoyable to goon to Pokegirls but I have been replaying the series. I finished up Platinum and am moving onto the Unova games
