Powerlevel is generally teen/early 20s concept. When you're still in subculture phase and your circle of interests revolves around school and uni. It becomes irrelevant when you get older and enter wagecuckining phase. No one cares.

Casual shitter here. I played few times on hitbox and stick and I think I should say with 100% confidence that gamepads suck HARD for fighting games. Even the best ones (DS2, DS4, DS5, cheap usb saturn pad) are such dogshit compared to hitbox and stick (though stick is tricky at first) it's unreal. This is why fighting games are hard. The default tool is just bad (though you probably can emulate hitbox feel on good KB). Yes-yes I know some professional play on pads but it's not really different from professional artists using bad tools for drawing.
>tl;dr
fighting games will be more popular if HORI htiboxes or sticks were cheap. Or if they were part of default console bundles.

I'll share a trick I've learned for better transparencies: cut one pixel into the lineart with your cutout, then do a 1 pixel outer glow (photoshop/photopea)/drop shadow (gimp) filter on the layer, set to the same color as the lineart.
Then check your work by paint bucketing white and black behind it. You can get them fairly flawless/seamless this way. Pic related.
