I played 70 DS games in Bizhawk emu last 2 months. There's also nothing to configure in most emus, besides the initial configuration of inputs, hotkeys, etc.
Even pcsx2 runs most games fine without the need for fiddling with configs. And if there's an issue, you visit the wiki to see correct config for each game. Takes a minute.
