Forgot to address a couple things:
>She is planning to be able to leave and return
I don't recall her ever saying this, and her admissions to Verso at the end suggest her motivation was always just to stay there with "him".
> and now she values the ones in the canvas more than she did before because they actually treated her better than her "real" family.
We have no idea what Alicia's life with her family is like. We know Clea is pretty cold as far as sisters go. Every other interaction we see is in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy - a daughter mistakenly allowed enemies to firebomb your house. The son sacrificed his life and died terribly to save her. She is still badly wounded and left scarred and mute. All we know outside of that is that her parents were demanding when it came to painting quality. They could otherwise have been very doting, or total cunts. Alicia's actions are those of someone suffering from terrible grief. She says she values those memories, but Maelle simply did not care about Lumiere, and Alicia saying she does shows that there's a disconnect between the two.
