>Why isn't healthcare a basic right in this country?

Because a right is something that the state can't take away from you not something that you're given at the expense of other people's labor.

Our current healthcare system is garbage and you can make arguments for government run healthcare systems; but misconstruing healthcare as a right misunderstands the basic concept of what a right is.

Beyond that we have $38 TRILLION in debt and the most expensive healthcare costs in the world. We're broke, we're already running out of money and we can't afford to throw more money at a healthcare and insurance industry that's already screwing us with its prices. Steps need to be taken to get healthcare costs down and throwing more government money at the problem won't do that as it merely becomes more guaranteed profits for the healthcare and insurance industry (as in the case of the health insurance corporate subsidies that the Democrats have shut down the government to try and renew).

Allow for the importation of FDA approved drugs from other countries who get better prices for them. Allow people to go overseas for cheaper procedures and allow them to keep the money they save over what their insurer or government coverage would pay to provide a consumer incentive towards lower prices. This will put consumer price controls for lower prices back on the healthcare and insurance industry and will drive prices down by breaking the government protected healthcare cartel system.

>So… uhh... does /pol/ actually have any arguments to refute this?

Neoliberals are the 1%. They've created a society that concentrates wealth into their hands while impoverishing the working class and farmers like the people who live in Oklahoma.

That's literally all there is too it. Massachusetts is the wealthiest state in the country and its populated by corrupt lobbyists. Its wealth has nothing to do with its policies, it produces literally nothing, it just has a lot of rich people living there.

>Why is socialism only unpopular with Americans?

Why are the working class taxed for socialism?
Why shouldn't they just keep their money?
If this is really meant to help the working class then shouldn't the rich be the only ones taxed for it?

>This isn't a spending problem

It definitely is.

Every billionaire in the country has a combined net worth of abour $6 TRILLION.

We could literally rob every billionaire of every penny they own and we'd still have $31 TRILLION in debt and we'd still be adding a TRILLION a year.

1: Is the fine relative to income? If its a flat rate then yes the fine becomes more meaningful the less money you have.

2: If you're not earning a living for yourself then someone else must earn a living for you. By taking the fruits of their labor you have enslaved them.

3: See 2. If you're taking food or any other resource from someone else against their will then you have enslaved them.

We have $37 TRILLION in debt. A politician promising you utopia without an explanation of how to pay for it is just a lying charlatan and if you're dumb enough to fall for such a stupid lie then you shouldn't be voting.

>why do poor people defend rich people

Why do idiots defend the government?

The US government has $37 TRILLION in debt. If the government took every penny from every billionaire in the United States it would only raise a little over $6 TRILLION.

The rich aren't the one's fucking you. The government that taxes you constantly and wastes your money on bullshit is.
