I disagree with OP, I think the NES is excellent... my unpopular opinion though, is that the Master System was superior.

It's been a while since I've played it, but I recall it being harder, and the fact it ditched multiplayer might make it the worst version for some, but for singleplayer it's the best one since it's fullscreen instead of only using half of it.

It's crazy how many Master System titles look damn near 16-Bit for early 80's hardware, SEGA used to be truly special.
