Any autist trying to hand-wave them being identical have genuine autism. Most normal, non-autistic people will tell you Shadow looks like a black Sonic. I got SA2 for my 5th birthday when it came out in 2001, and my mom thought Shadow was a dark Sonic clone when she looked at the boxart.
