Alternative timeline: Nintendo 64 only comes with two controller ports by default. A multi tap accessory is released at launch for 25 bucks that's plugged into port 2 and features 3 controller ports of its own, allowing for 4 controllers total. No changes at all to games and their support of 4 players.

I mean, that's unfortunate, but doing a thing in real life is almost always better than watching someone else do something on TV. I hate to miss an actual race, but I'd rather go to a backyard barbecue or whatever. (Indy 500, le Mans 24, ect. aside.)
I promise, the time you spend at a parade or whatever with your friends and family will stay with you way, way longer than any IndyCar qualifying session you watched on TV.
Life kinda sucks, but other people make it a whole lot better. Make sure you enjoy all the time you can with those people.
