Vampire Weekend is one of those band I hated the second I heard A-Punk.

I dont know if I can put my finger on why. I find them tryhard, tryhard in a sense that they tried so hard to be unique and not like every other band that was popular at the time, that's not a bad thing, but it just felt unorganic, like chucking an obnoxious sound of a blender chewing up glass in the middle of a soft guitar ballad just to make an otherwise bland song stand out.

I hated the video for A-Punk, the "oh were so quirky, we're not like the other girls (bands)"
The "hey hey hey" at the end of the wurlitzer-whatever-the-fuck-it-is interlude like anyone is going to headbang and pump their fist in the air to this song. A bunch of upper middle class, overeducated white people just throwing their bodies around like a bunch of spastics. The way they wore their guitar so fucking high up like they had a throbbing erection from the mere thought of all the alt-girls who were going to gobble the rock-lite shit they were selling and slobber all over their cocks for the next 5 years.

Have heard a few song of them on occation, just fucking hate it with an irrational passion.
