Why are people so afraid of why Europeans have a light eye color?
Everyone is inventing ridiculous conspiracy theories, which exist in a realm outside of rationality.
>Europeans developed blue eyes to see a tiny amount better in the dark (no one has ever witnessed or measured something like this irl)
>Europeans get better Vitamin D absorption through their blue eyes (Scandinavians in the North are extremely Vitamin D deficient, because of their modern diet, which regards organ meat as "icky", so they have to supplement)
All of these claims are just pure bullshit, while the true reason why blue eyes spread is starting us right in the eye. But for some reason it's extremely uncomfortable for people to admit to it. The true reason is so simple:
Blue eyes are beautiful. Why did they spread? Because they were sexually selected for? By whom? Indo-European Upper Class men, who had a higher birthrate than the lower classes, so the percentage of blue eyes increased naturally over hundreds of years.

Holy FUCK EUV is an insane time sink
Yesterday after an evening nap I just played through the entire night, until it was 8am and I had to go. Today I bake chicken legs, play for a bit and they are seemingly instantly ready after immersing myself for a bit. Before I made this thread it was 8pm, I played for a bit more and now it's suddenly 2am.
I haven't had an experience like this for years. Usually I get bored quickly with games.

Your core gameplay loop is rejecting the "admit seniority" vote your personal union party tries to push on you. I do that more than building stuff, declaring wars or calling for parliament meetings.

Concept for an EUV Fantasy Mod
Europa Universalis is the perfect skeleton to allow for an epic fantasy mod
>you can play as a Human Kingdom, an Orcish Horde, a single Lich Lord in his tower summoning an Undead Army
>but because EUV also allows you to play as "organizations" with no land, you could also play as a secretive Order of Illuminati-like Warlocks, who have to petition Human Kingdoms for permission to build their Wizard Towers
>you can have Orcs dynamically migrate to provinces where there is low control and not enough "Adventurers", who are their own POP type - you could have an entire system where these Orcs cause bad events, build their own buildings and eventually slaughter the population and join or create their own dynamic Orc Horde tags (they also don't "spawn" from nowhere, they have to migrate there from provinces, which already have Orcs)
>coming back to the Illuminati, since EUV has a dynamic system where the Byzantines can recruit Varangians from Swedish POPs in their country, you can just use that system to allow you to recruit powerful units from these secret organizations
>you should also have hundreds of different laws to sponsor different guilds like an adventurer guild, who cause (mostly) positive events from you, which are the only way to free your provinces from really powerful monsters like Dragons for example
I am honestly more excited about the possibility EUV presents than the vanilla game itself. The game has literally every single system you would need to make this happen. You could absolutely play as Demon Cultists trying to get sponsored by real countries, creating secret bases all over the place and eventually open a portal to Hell to get a Demon Army and become a real country (while also keeping your cult abilities)

It's fun figuring things out in Factorio. Or rather it's fun ONCE you actually figured it out. Getting there can be frustrating. Like trying to calculate ratios on your own.
My mistake was that I didn't notice there is Crafting time and Crafting speed. It didn't help that you never see them on the same screen. One has a tiny s behind it's value and one does not. This is actually extremely important. Crafting time says how long an item takes to create. Crafting speed on the other, which also is 0.5 (without the s) for most basic items, is the speed of your assembler. Now of course you get all of this information for free and your assembler tells you exactly how much it produces on average every second. Back then, when I played, you actually had to calculate this yourself. And not knowing that your basic assembly machines work at 50% speed (the factorio dev prefers to not use percentages for some reason), then ALL of your ratios are wrong.
My other more recent mistake was using the circuit network for the first time. You know lots of people just skip over the most important and the most basic things you need to know to get it to work. It's not enough to just say "this pump is going to activate and drain fluid from this storage, when it's at more than 90% capacity". If you do that NOTHING will happen. I thought I was retarded and tried out all different kinds of mathematical signs. Maybe I am retarded and don't know that < means less than? The game gaslights you like that sometimes. But then it turns out you need to specify EXACTLY what signal type you want to compare to the number you set. I thought (reasonably) if you didn't specify, it would just use fluid content, no matter what it is. No, you actually have to say that only when the LIGHT OIL signal in that storage tank is above a certain number, the condition for the pump is activated.
