Read The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde recently. Every single adaptation had Jekyll turning into an evil being by drinking a potion that brought out his evil side.

The book? The potion just changed his appearance and Jekyll used the new persona to do all the debauchery he wanted. There was no split personality or awakened evil, just Jekyll realized nobody would connect that he was Hyde so he had a free pass to commit violence, fuck whores, and be a jerk with zero accountability. Jekyll just started doing IRL anonymous shit posting and trolling. When he realized someone did connect the dots? He blew his brains out because he was doxxed.

Yeah, terrible to use modern Internet bullshit to draw comparisons, I know.
The main point is EVERY SINGLE adaptation was completely incorrect. What other books are fundamentally incorrect in pretty much all adaptations?

Just watched Alien Romulus and, while it did a good job of filling in some extended lore here and there, it was kinda shit altogether.

What really annoyed me was British accents in space. That shit makes no sense. It is like being removed from Earth for generations and having a Texan accent. So now I want to buck the trend and propose every futuristic film have a cast speaking with the heaviest redneck accent possible because odds are high that's the kind of fuckers that would predominately be used for one way terraforming missions. Expendable assets. Keep Lord Fagbottom on Earth to do the science heavy lifting with Himmler VonKrammer, Cletus is tilling Martian soil making the air breathable with a lot of automated tech, so that's what the spacer's twang is coming from.

Of course it means first contact will come from Cletus the 8th who will probably call the aliens "Space Niggers" or something.
