Having your own government be in charge sounds like a terrible idea
I think what we should do instead is create a private central banking system which is not answerable to the people and is solely in charge of managing an imaginary currency backed by nothing which our government will be entirely dependent on. Then we'll prevent our government from raising any capital for the public purse by privatising anything that could bring in revenue and going further and further into debt until finally when we're trillions in the red and our government is incapable of doing anything without begging the private banking system for money we will simply allow that banking system to dictate all terms of governance while pretending that we're still in charge and use mock elections to shuffle the deckchairs on the titanic as everything gets progressively worse and the private owners of the financial sector become richer and richer

It is transparently obvious to anybody with a brain that this disaster began with Blizzard deciding that they wanted to force a wheelchair into WoW and then working backwards from there. They didn't decide they wanted Khadgar to be injured to give the story some emotional weight or to take him out of the picture for a plot development or to show the power of an adversary. They decided they were going to put a major character in a wheelchair because Karen from the diversity writing committee panel is in a wheelchair and wouldn't it be great if she felt represented.
