The waifu picker is the ultimate form of CYOA. Anybody can come up with a vaguely interesting scenario, even Hollywood slop peddlers can throw in a car chase or a gunfight into their flavor of the month slop. But to come up with multiple compelling characters is something only a good writer can do. When we say we aspire to a good CYOA, both logic and previous example dictate that what we pine for a good waifu picker.
