>Is that what friends do? One runs for his life while the other screams promises of eternal possession?
It's all fun and games between them. Amy chasing Sonic is not stalker behavior.
>You don't get to say the manual is gospel but her own song is just, what, a mistake?
I'm saying that you don't know the song, period. Because "let's settle our lives" alone isn't meaning that Amy wants to force Sonic to settle down, that's not what the song is about.
>She doesn't dislike boredom because she's "energetic."
False. Yes she does. That is how she is described. Amy is a genki girl, they emphasize "energy" all the time when they talk about her, and that's the basis of how she's characterized. That's why "passion" is a theme here. Her profile on Sonic Channel lists "Boredom" as the dislike for both her and Charmy for the same reason.
>But this... this is the best part. You brought up Nicky. You actually did it. You got so desperate you brought up a totally different character from a gag manga that has nothing to do with the games. Nicky isn't Sonic. Nicky is a weak, timid little kid. He's more like Tails than Sonic. He's a dweeb. And you're using his girlfriend from a non-canon comic as proof of a relationship in the game canon.
The manga cast were directly designed by Naoto Ohshima, how Amy was implemented there is very relevant to her character conception in general, regardless of canon, as it's the earliest incarnation of her character from the day she was created in the first place. The greater context is the important part here.
Amy was introduced there as the "Girlfriend" character to Sonic's alter-ego, while also greatly admiring Sonic himself as she does in the games, and Sonic with Amy had positive and friendly interactions between them. The only real difference between the manga and CD is that Nicky doesn't exist, but Amy's relation to Sonic is virtually unchanged. Effectively his "Girlfriend" but not really at the same time.
