Because demo force would unironically give the weapon a niche. In its use-cases the thing is basically a worse quasar or a worse railgun however you slice it. If the thing could just close bugholes then you could at least say:
>Yeah, it's a worse railgun/quasar, but there sure are a lot of bug holes in this mega nest and the epoch's low power shots are more capable of closing them quickly than the quasar or railgun.
Especially if they were also to reworked the magazine economy to 4-5 round magazines.
However since they are dead set on giving the thing fuckall demo force and pretending that this is realistic instead of immersion breaking, then the thing is just reduced to being a worse railgun/quasar.
