There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing on the easiest difficult.
There's more to a game than just the difficult, there's art, music, mechanics, level design, story, and characters, all of those things should be appreciated, and if playing at the lowest difficult is what allows you to appreciate it, then it's okay.
Now if you claim to be some big shot pro-gamer or whatever the fuck, and all you do is play on the easiest difficult, then yeah there's something wrong with that.

You are right though about nostalgia, the game is fantastic, but some dudes suck it off like its cum cures cancer. I have a theory that any Nintendo fan above the age of 28 was neglected/abused, and Nintendo was the only positive thing in their life at the time, so they have a weird imprinted relationship with it.

Once the normies moved in and games went from selling 500,000 to 5,000,000 copies, it was over. Suddenly game communities weren't made and catered to the eccentric geeks and nerds that used to make up the majority, now it's Bob from accounting, the family man, who just really likes the game and talking about it. The eccentric, strange, and weird guys all got pushed out to make room for the millions of normies, because well you see, normies are very uncomfortable with eccentric, strange, and weird people. We can't risk them leaving, because we need their millions upon millions of dollars to maintain our new office we just got but can barely afford. So you better ban anyone that makes some fan art with a skirt above the knee, ban anyone that says a bad word, ban anyone that expresses a spicy political position, ban anyone that makes more than 20 posts an hour, ban anyone that makes a joke that can be construed as hurtful. Ban everyone that steps out of line! Permanently! None of this 3 day, 2 week, 1 month horse shit, PERMANENTLY!

The older you get, the more you realize how much of your generosity is used against you, and at some point, you just fucking snap.
Then everyone stands around, picks their nose, and wonders what happened.
It fucking sucks that nobody pays it forward, and most don't realize that it doesn't work until it's too late.
However, you did the right thing today. Start in small steps, become comfortable with setting up boundaries and limits, and always be sure that who you are doing a favor for, will pay you back.
