If you haven't realized, he's tied up with the Aeon who's the big bad of the whole story, so removing him removes the progression of that plotline. He wasn't just building up coreflames the whole time after all. He was building up hatred that earned him the Blessing of Nanook, and there's no fucking way they aren't going to use that later on. If you have a problem with Phainon's writing, just say it instead of blurting out baseless theories.
