you misunderstand. when you have something that's lovely you need to gatekeep people who fundamentally hate that thing away from it. it's not sourness or bitterness, it's actual love for trek.
people like to discuss Dukat's ruination but no one seems as upset over Odo's sad decline. it's much harder for me to understand what the writers were thinking there.
