I don't think it will kill it off. For example, loads of people screeched about AI killing writefags off. The models there are far better developed than animation, and you can generate decent stories and get addicted to RPing with chatbots (I still remember people asking me about the size chat bots I made and how I got them to be so horny). However, there's still a healthy number of people posting stories, getting commissions, and sending out RP requests. AI got rid of some of the market, but it hasn't stopped people from being creative.
Animation will go through the same thing in my view—artfags who are dedicated and produce quality work will endure because there will be a deluge of crap. Some people using AI will make good content with it, but the majority of people will be making slop.
