The desire will be there until people actually get a hold of it and play it for more than a week then it will turn in to the same complaints people had about garrisons, no one will be in the capital/overworld and the game will feel dead which will encourage people to abandon the game

The difference with WoD was that once it was done that was it we moved on, housing is a permanent feature though blizzard now has no way of funneling people back out in to the world once they get to housing
