Halo dominated FPS games from 2001 to 2007 because there was no competitor of that kind.
Halo simply catered to all types of audiences: camping, casual multiplayer, competitive multiplayer, big combat vehicles, campaigns, Forge, firefight, theater, and many other aspects.

As I said before, Halo simply catered to all types of players.
It's no coincidence that the franchise lost dominance after games like L4D, COD 4, Battlefield BC2, etc.
And those who want to blame Reach for the "fall" have no clue.
Halo/Bungie fans were still numerous, even though they lost a large number of casual players.
If Halo hadn't been killed by 343I and Microsoft, it might have suffered a similar fate to Destiny 1.

either way Deadmau5 was teased & talked about since the beginning of the season. Even shown off in multiple loading screens in BP rewards, & i think got a poster on the map, and even got a RL collab but we are supposed to believe that he was never gonna be the main Festival Artist?
