I think it's pretty telling how in discussions about Indian cuisine here, people with negative comments about it aren't just "Eh, not for me". They're like "b-but unimaginative flavor profile!" "I-It's just slop!" "B-but [nearby country's cuisine] actually does the same thing better!".

Really betrays how bothered they are by the fact that it's one of the most popular cuisines in the world. As if grasping for straws will convince everyone else to stop liking it. I mean, even here were hating on Indians is basic in group signalling, people can't help but admit to liking it
