WNBA players are just there by default because someone has to be. If you're tall and have a pulse, you're in. Caitlin Clarke is the most famous female basketball player of all time and her shooting percentages aren't even average by men's standards even though she's playing on easy mode with a smaller ball. NFL players get a percent of profits because the league is profitable. WNBA players get charity because their league has never made money.
Actually, now that I think about it the NFL equivalent to WNBA players are cheerleaders: vain bitches no one really cares about making money by piggybacking off other people's success who somehow still think they matter and deserve more money and attention just for existing at all.
