For starters Dyne's moment of clarity when he realizes what he is now and that he can't live with himself anymore is missing. Doubly tragic because Barret has the same moment of clarity. But Barret has Marlene. He CAN'T die because that would mean leaving Marlene all alone
Secondly, the moment is undercut by Palmer inserting his greasy ass in a scene that should let you just sit with those emotions for a moment. Dyne's body isn't even cold yet and Rebirth goes back to silly antics because we skipped Rocket Town
Thirdly, where the fuck did those Shinra troops even come from?
Fourtly, the parallel between Barret and Dyne is fucked up because Rebirth immediately shows you that Barret didn't shoot those people in the Saucer. So that moment of fear where the party wonders if Barret went off the deep end, a fear Barret shares about Dyne because he's not self aware yet, is fucking gone. I mean Barret didn't mind blowing up randoms in the Reactor Bombing so...oh wait. I forgot Barret didn't do that either.
So yeah I'm going to say that Barret vs Dyne was a massive fuck up on Rebirth's part.
