Rockstar has been like this since at least as far back as GTA3, constantly sniping at classic conservative culture. Maybe they're just more obvious and more 'Druckmanized' about it these days. I actually haven't played RDR2, but I did always find it weird that Dutch was written to be a tragic sympathetic character, a psychopath proto-communist whose only 'true' flaw was his hubris.

This is a nearly ubiquitous theme in media; it's predominantly written by progressives but has to sell to conservatives, so they wrap all of their values in a cloak of verisimilitude. Moreover, they treat the fantasy of fiction the same way they regard pornography, like it's the 'box of shame' where you're allowed to indulge any interest or impulse whether it's natural or prurient, but at the end of play it has to stay in the box.

More than that though, they've learned that the box can be weaponized by placing into it the values they oppose, and this is why you get characters like antiracist progressive outlaws in RDR, musclebound roidraging maniacs who also talk feminism like Mr. Torgue in Borderlands, or the rotten dirtbag MCs of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia who will engage in engage in every regressive behavior under the sun and then still roll a lesson on liberalism into it.

As Leftism is the political conclusion of the feminine mindset, this tactic is kind of the inverse of the woman who smiles to your face and then backstabs a friend when she's not around. It's rough-&-tumble on the outside, and female wheedling on the indside. Without this being pointed out, the conservative layman will just swallow it whole, and that's how we end up with an infestation of progressive politics in such traditional boys' clubs as gaming.

Note though that the regression is the true self. While conservatives will integrate & own it, progressives will deny it and claim it's just fun & escapism, but it's their way of telling you how they'd behave without rule of law or pressure of consensus.
what the fuck were they thinking turning this into a third person shooter halfway through?
Edgy Games
Getting sick and tired of bright color palettes, farm sims about "helping" people, and whiny moralfags telling me what is and isn't allowed to be in a game.

Games were better when they were edgy. What are your favorites, anon? What are some that don't get talked about enough?
What if the next season of fishtank are a group of convicted pedophiles and murderers and they have to kill each other in creative ways. Last one standing wins the $50,000. Viewers can donate items, food and weapon components to their favorite convict that they make improvised weapons in secret and the viewers can give intel to the fish about other fish. It's like manhunt except quirkchungas.
ITT: Games that could only have been made in a specific timeframe.
