Being a cockwarmer for space marines is not a 'win for the Eldar'

Here's what I want. One single time, a Farseer sees a disturbance in the flowing of fate. A craftworld makes a risky maneuver to come to an Imperial system under siege from a massive chaos fleet, lead by a powerful named chaos warlord like Huron or Abbadon or something. The Eldar sense that if the entire system is cleansed in battle fate will change for the better of the entire galaxy. They engage both the Imperials and Chaos forces and win in both space and on the ground. It turns out that the planet is a massive chaos weapon that if activated would have wiped out all life for 100 light years in every direction including the Craftworld and a few defenseless Imperial planets. It was being charged by the sacrifices of souls on both sides. The Eldar genuinely just get some bolter porn of shitting on both sides, and the Imperials and Chaos borderline team up on the Eldar at the end to stop them from accessing the weapon. Which they fail to do. Eldar disarm the weapon, instantly teleport back to their ships in space and detonate the planet leaving the entire system dead and empty.

You might think its not a particularly gripping or engaging story. But it will literally SHOCK 40k readers because they will never see it coming that Eldar could not only win a battle but do it decisively and while looking cool.

Very true, fellow Eldar. These pathetic and primitive mon'keigh cannot understand the beauty of our majestic civilization. It is simply beyond them.

Honest question, would you prefer if 40k is filled with reasonable characters who are good people and never do anything out of spite or a desire to do evil?
