How do you even get a scene so fucking wrong? Especially as a director and self-proclaimed CSM "fan"?
>Makima is too far away from the camera when she should be the focus point of the shot
>Colors are far too bright, robbing the scene of any sort of menacing atmosphere
>Makima is slithly smiling in the anime for some godforsaken fucking reason
>Huge emphasis on the fucking CGI background instead of Makima
>No threatening aura emanating from Makima at all
Just everything about the anime version is so damn awful. The shot should be far more zoomed in on her while they are driving through a dark tunnel, with lights above her flickering to indicate that something is wrong, while Makima stares directly into the guy's soul with a stern and intimidating look, accompanied by eerie background music.
Like, how do you look at the manga page as a CSM fan and now get this? He looked at the manga page and didn't even consider it an important character moment for Makima. In Ryu Nakayama's head, this was just a random scene of her returning to life, which shouldn't be given any special treatment at all.
