My take is that both Noelle and Kris are projecting hardcore on Susie. Kris projects Dess, Noelle projects both Dess and Kris.
The difference being, by now in chapter 4, Noelle still has barely hung out or even talked to Susie, and even keeps reinforcing these projections with stuff like the guitar scene or just talking at length about Kris the few times she manages to talk with her at all. While Kris has already moved past those, and learned to appreciate Susie as her own thing by virtue of spending a LOT of time with her, getting to know her and having so many "2gremlins1braincell" moments with her.
