Evan comes from the part of the fandom that thought Archie Silver and the 06 dub was how he was supposed to be and that Sonic Rivals was a weird outlier. Turns out Archie is the exact opposite of how Silver is supposed to be and Rivals is in character to the Japanese/Sonic Team version of Silver. Sonic Team was just too lazy to get into the specifics of Silver's character for almost two decades.
