That wasn't even the issue. There were community fixes on the workshop that /preemptively/ fixed the pants.

The issue was actually that Valve

The last part being worsened by Valve's retardation of not accepting fixes for other peoples' cosmetics, EVEN IF it doesn't affect the creator's revenue, it fixes something broken (like the pants no longer matching), and the creator disappeared off the face of the Earth 10 years ago.
They basically swapped the pants without doing any planning, notifying, or anything whatsoever, and then didn't allow anyone to even do anything about it.
