Now that jobs get mastery points beyond job lvl 30 concentrate on direct stat improvements for relevant jobs. Eg strength for swordsman for damage and stamina for phys resistance. I'm surprised how many great franchises I somehow missed despite being into gaming all my life. Recently picked up ace combat which has been great. I always saw the cases in stores but played other ps2 games like timesplitters.
I also recently got into smt. The only one I played before was strange journey in 2013 or so on emulator. Going through them now I'm blown away by how great every single entry in mainline and spin offs is.

The only other games I plan to buy this year will be Metroid Prime 4 and Ghost of Yotei.
Anyway, currently making my way to 100% on THPS 3+4, but goddamn some of the Pro Goals feel like bullshit. My skills definitely aren't what they used to be in these games. I remember back as a kid, I had no problem ripping off combos of like 500,000 points. Now, I can barely get a combo off with 200,000 even with max stats. The balance for grinding and manuals seems way more unforgiving, but idk if that's the way the remake is or my skills have deteriorated.

I am 32 years old, I have been trying to beat Metaphor: Refantazio since May now, but I keep burning out.
I have burnt out on it and had to take long breaks, I think, twice now.
I played a little bit of Fantasy Zone II. That game gets bonkers by stage 5, and I have to figure out how to lead the bullets with the boss. I might try to take more sweeping movements because small taps don't seem to be doing it for me. I eventually get pinned. Also picked up on my 10 year old save file for Ys Celceta. Beat two bosses in the final dungeon and I think I'm on the final boss. Seems a little nutty, at least on nightmare it is. Has the four elemental pillars around it which I assume you need to hack away at before you can damage it, or I might need to switch to a ranged character and see what happens. Might have to grind my skills as well which I don't like the prospect of.
I'll probably bounce around some games until one or a few stick.
>>7159640821 and 2 are all-timers and ME2, even now, is still probably in my top 5 games of all time.

Atlus RPGs tend to have weird lasting impacts though. i played P3R right after beating Metaphor, took about 100 hours including the not-very-good DLC, and while Metaphor is unquestionably the better video game as a whole, P3 has been living in my head rent-free since i beat it. i can't stop listening to the soundtrack or thinking about the characters. P5 had a similar impact on me after i first beat it, and that game is now in my top 2 of all time and it might not even be #2. Metaphor didn't have that impact on me though. I beat it, loved the experience, then just kinda stopped thinking about it for a while.

I recently concluded my journey through Mad Max on PS5, a title of respectable merit, though its narrative seemed a mere whisper in the wind.
The meticulous gathering of scrap, dismantling of camps, and obliteration of hidden insignias offered a delightfully absorbing diversion, until, alas, ennui set in.
For a production of such grand scale, it proved a most enjoyable endeavor.
In my enthusiasm, I secured a preorder for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and acquired Tony Hawkโs Pro Skater 3+4 alongside Khazan: The First Berserker, last one was fortuitously on sale.
At present, my gaming repertoire includes Avowed and Silent Hill: Downpour on the Xbox Series X, Persona 4 Golden and Lost Ruins on the Nintendo Switch, and Yakuza: Pirates in Hawaii paired with Sonic Team Racing on the PlayStation 5, a veritable symphony of digital artistry.
The allure of the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2 beckons, with Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Bananza promising splendor, though their cost is lamentably steep.
The new FromSoftware creation, while intriguing, leans toward multiplayer, a minor blemish on its otherwise tantalizing prospect.
In sum, my passion for video games endures, yet I find myself drawn to explore diverse genres to sustain the vibrancy and passion of this cherished pastime.

I've been playing the bazaar, which is surprisingly good. I had seen it kick around a little bit and thought "naw lame". It reminds me of very early hearthstone and very early marvel snap, like season 1 shit where things were still interesting and didn't degrade a ton (yet).
Been playing a smattering of fighting games, but I don't know if I have the heart for it anymore. I always have fun when I play but just pressing "play" is becoming more taxing. Hit master a few times in sf6 and I don't care about grinding the Mr system.

>>716009482>dustforceis it really that good? I almost never hear about it but when I do people always say good things
>>716009807I've started playing it like two days ago. The soundtrack is very comfortable, the controls are super tight and precise. It's a speedrunning autist game at the end of the day but the completion requirements are very lax (you have to clear all the dust and not make any mistakes on a reasonable time) so you can get by just by playing well. You could for instance finish a level in 1:05 at max rank, look at your friends' scores, someone did it on 1:35 and still got the max rank but then you look at the leaderboard and the #1 is a mad lad doing it in 21 seconds.
There's a lot of room for player expression and optimization if you want to but you can still play at your own pace and have fun.

>>716015310sorry anon, its child abuse in my opinion. same as genetic cripples having children
>>715950341 (OP)>30>Ciel Nosurge Offline (recently fan translated)Crazy this game came out when I was in highschool and for years we had that one LP and then the Youtube video series. Now I have Ion on the table next to me cooking up some sweets while I do some reading.
>"Could have just learned Japanese, idiot"Yeah. Interestingly enough, the guy who did English summary said "The Ciel story write up will be removed as I'm completely uninterested in the opinions of others, the ridiculous propositions, and inane comments that it generates. The idea was to share a story that I felt a deep attachment to with a community that might not be able to access it otherwise. Instead it was treated as a required homework by some in order to enjoy Ar, and as an avenue for a strange kind of superiority flexing by others who think that knowing some Japanese makes them special." I cannot remember if he did indeed take the English summary down.
I consider Ciel to be important to understanding Ar but it's funny Japanese learners were obnoxious back then too and they had to backup the English summary until the fan translation came out.

I was actually liking the game at first, but the map design is so fucking bad. They copy and paste patterns of enemies like 5 times in each of the many long, monotonous hallways. It takes fucking forever to get anywhere because of literal copy paste hoards of enemies and barely any teleportation points. How having beaten it I have to agree with the concensus, this game is ass

>>716016134Unironically true. They cannot keep these mining/obscure factory town populated so they need to import the third world to do so. Soon going out to the country will be more dangerous than going out to the hood.

>>716008581>i hate microsoft excelI loved Excel as it was the only thing I had control over that couldn't be fucked by anyone else in that office. It it helps, I was getting down about looking for work after 8 months of unemployment and decided to look at the last company on Glassdoor. Saw a review from May that was 1 star and listening the exact same issues I had when I quit. Good to see their turnover rate is still terrible.

>>716016049When I was 6 I've held hands and even kissed a girl on the cheek when I was in kindergarten. We even said that we would get married casually, just out of the blue. It was so sweet. Just two kids sharing the purest love for each other. But one day we just stopped all the lovey dovey stuff and never talked about it. Then she moved away in first grade. That was the last time I was ever close to a girl.
