Most of the games have the issue where they make his face too large. Smash, Squeak Squad/KSSU, and the K64 (and K64 inspired designs like the new "main series" one) tend to make his head and body proportionally larger/face proportionally smaller, it works a lot better.

Non-Smash/Anime Sakurai Dedede is kind of built like a Snowman, if that makes sense. It looks odd, and it draws a lot more attention to his weird beak design than it should.
