Hoult Luthor was where I think they really fucked up and it's pretty fucking crazy that they thought intentionally writing him to be corny and annoying and a vapid, sniveling douche who's self-aware about how retarded he is would go over well. Even the casting basically slants him as a day-trader finance bro.

Never in a million years did I expect to feel bad for Lex Luthor.
He's evil as fuck in this movie but I still kind of understood him.
I honestly think it's one of the best Luthors.
Not as good as Hackman or STAS, but still damn good.
