I liked it, I'm a fan of gainax and trigger in general and it was full of retro sovl mixed in with the modern stuff, very enjoyable, not a fan of everything following Maine's death though, the anime should have ended there.

Shame, if you didn't reach water 7 and enies lobby you missed out on the peakest part of the entire manga so far.
But I get it, I had issues getting into one piece myself.
Although it's a purely artistic take but I think the first few seasons are absolute kino and they completely ditched the gorgeous aquarel backgrounds and kinography every other fight to improve on the animation over the years... big mistake, I really lost interest in the aesthetic of One piece around those parts.
